If you live in California where there’s a lot of sun, and your utility bills are high, you’re probably considering some sort of solar installation for your home. With tax credits, and credit on your electrical bill month-after-month, installing solar power is one of the best returns on investment for your property hands-down.

Going green is easy if installed by a professional.

Installing solar power for your home is a relatively easy thing to do, with most installations not taking long. Although there is a lot of information available for do-it-yourself type installations online. However a quality solar installation done by a residential solar company will assure you increase the value of your home. Plus, they will usually obtain all permitting, work with any HOA’s and handle all paperwork and negotiations on your behalf.

With home prices the way they are in California, it only makes sense to have professionals do the job right, the first time. Although having your uncle come over and help put up your brand new solar panels may sound like a good idea at first, it won’t save you money in the long run. Only a professional solar installation will come with a guarantee, and a whole lot more peace of mind.

You need a solar installation you can count on.

Professional solar installation companies carry quality products and offer custom installation services. With a professional installation, your solar array won’t look like it was just tacked on to your house. Other services usually offered by reputable companies include a professional Shading report, a Solar Feasibility Survey, a free quote and a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all parts and service.

There is such a company you can count on that has installed well over 25,000 solar projects throughout California. We have locations in San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles and serve the whole state of California. Everyone knows The Bay Area is a great place to live- we’ve got perfect weather, some of the best beaches and parks in the world, good schools and jobs, melting pots of culture, and the best dinning around! Did you also know that the sunny Bay Area was rated as a “Solar Star” by Environment America’s 2014 study? They found that The Bay Area was the #2 area in the nation with more than 50 watts of installed solar PV capacity per person and the #4 area in America for total installed solar PV capacity!

As one of the leading solar companies in the Bay Area, Fidelity Home Energy isn’t surprised by the news. We’re headquartered in San Leandro and our staff installed over 500 residential solar projects in 2015 alone.

In addition to the 263 days a year of sunshine the Bay Area enjoys, the key reasons for this phenomenal industry growth include the energy cost savings for homeowners, improvements in property values (an average of a $20,194 premium to the sales price), and qualification for several government programs. The 30% IRS solar tax credit is unlimited and currently available until 2017. Lucky citizens of the surrounding Bay Area have access to financing at attractive rates and terms through the Property Assessed Clean Energy or PACE program.

While some home owners are hesitant to buy solar now, fearing that prices will continue to go down in coming years, energy costs are only rising and crunching the numbers on a solar calculator show that your family will be recouping costs more quickly than ever. Another reason solar power is becoming so popular in the Bay Area and across America is the ability for a solar systems to be designed specifically to maximize your energy harvest. A solar solution can now be installed that powers your home, Jacuzzi and pool, and that can be placed on a wide variety of rooftops- from concrete to Spanish tile.

If you’re a Bay Area resident ready to join your neighbors in saving money, living more sustainability and investing in your home, contact us to find out how easy it is to go from a free in-home energy analysis to power on!

Soccer isn’t the only thing that Germany is getting right these days. Recently the country set two new solar records – promising news for the future of solar energy.

During the first two months of June, Germany produced 50.6% of its total energy via solar (Science Alert). That’s right, over half of its energy came from solar! What’s more, the country set a world record in May by producing 22 gigawatts of electricity per hour. To put that in perspective, it would be the equivalent of running 20 nuclear power plants at full capacity – that is a lot of power!

What is remarkable about these breakthroughs in solar energy is that 90% of Germany’s solar panels are installed on the roof tops of private individuals – not solar energy farms. Since deciding to move away from nuclear energy in 2011, the country has had success in promoting solar energy to its citizens. Scientists also point to the excellent weather that occurred in June as a reason for how the country was able to produce over half of its energy this way.

Which begs the question – why isn’t the United States, and sunny Southern California in particular, producing more solar energy? Under 1% of energy produced in the United States is solar.  But in California, we’re doing a lot better than that at 18%, leading the nation in solar energy production and doubling solar power generation in the state over the last two years (Reuters). Fidelity Home Energy has been a leader in fostering this trend in California. If you are thinking about solar energy as an option for your home, please contact us today.

We are very pleased with Fidelity Home Energy''s solar panel installation. The whole staff is very knowledgeable and very professional in their work. The output of energy is more than what was guaranteed by the contract due to the recent good, warm weather.

We are very happy with our solar installation from Fidelity Home Energy. During the day when the sun is out we actually create more electicity through our solar panels than we are using from the grid and it is very satsifying to see our electric meter arrow pointing to the left indicating we are sending power back to the grid.

With a large house with a heated pool and hot tub, we were/still are big consumers of electricity (over 1000KW per month prior to the install) and yet our electric bill has effectively been cut in half with no lifestyle changes what so ever on our part. We use the same amount of electricity now - we just pay SDGE half as much for it.

The 14 panels we had installed are barely visible from the street and were installed in a single day. I was surprised how quickly the work happened and was glad that Fidelity handled all the permits and red tape required to get the panels installed and approved by the city and SDGE.

The choice to add solar energy to your home is not only an investment in your home but it''s a hedge bet that you will be insulated from the rising costs of energy in the years to come. Of course, if you plan to sell your home, having solar increases your home value immediately.

The fact that approximately 1/3rd of the cost of our solar installation is essentially funded by the Federal government via a tax rebate just made the decision to go solar a no brainer for us.
I highly recommend Fidelity - their team was professional and they delivered on everything they promised us they would. If you want to free yourself from the grips of SDGE, save money, improve the value of your home, and help the environment, Fidelity makes the process of going solar easy and stress-free.

The previous reviewer indicated that Fidelity's prices were high - my response to that is that you get what you pay for. If you want good, quality work done with quality materials - it will cost more than a local contractor who is trying to cut corners to maximize their profit. My parents (elderly) had solar installed by Fidelity Home Energy and are very pleased on all levels. The staff, both office and installers were professional, helpful and patient. My parents, having some language barriers, urged me to write a positive review on their behalf. As their son, I am happy and relieved Fidelity Home Energy took such good care of my parents.

Fidelity Home Energy is an amazing company found on the Forbes list and highly reputable. The team is thorough, knowledgeable, and extremely professional. If you are looking for the best, Fidelity Home Energy goes above and beyond superior costumer service. The solar panels are American made and surpass all other brands on the market, the warranty is unbeatable, and the installation is flawless. I recommend this company to everyone that is interested in utilizing the sun for energy.

I got a flyer in the mail to enter a Free Solar System contest, no purchase required, and you would also get an "in-home energy audit." I filled out the flyer and mailed it off. In a couple of days I got a phone call to set up my in-home consultation. The representative was a little pushy with sales pitches when I told her the earliest we could do an appointment wasn't for about 3 weeks. But once the appointment was scheduled we didn't hear from them until a few days before confirming my appointment.

Come the day of the appointment (3/31/14), I was ready with the SDGE history for the past year, an average monthly energy usage, etc. The salesman (Charles) was very nice and personable. Seemed knowledgeable. He has checked-in with us FREQUENTLY through-out the process and has always been amazing. We opted to go with them based on their pricing.

Once the ball was rolling, the project manager came by a couple times to measure exactly where the panels will go, draw up blueprints/plans for the city permit office, and what not. Told us of a few problem areas we might want to address before the building inspector comes by, such as an overgrown bush blocking access to breaker box (and ultimately the inverter box)

We received calls at every critical step of the process to let us know how it was coming along; from getting the permits, to installation day, to inspection day, all the way to activation day. Which was a relief! I was never left guessing "what's going on?"

Installation took place 4/10/14 (only about 10 days from the first appointment). The inspector came out on 4/15/14, which was VERY FAST! Then exactly one week later we got the official paperwork from SDGE telling us its OK to turn on the system.

Our system has been on for a little over a week now, and we've already generated 87kW with an 8 panel system. We were guaranteed our system would generate on average 271kW per month (averaged over the coarse of 1 year), and we're set to hit 348kW this month.

I'm extremely happy with the purchase, product, and support from Fidelity Home Energy.

On Feb 11, 2017, there were two Fidelity men came to my house and gave me a solar presentation, introducing their company and telling me how many solar panels I needed in order to save me money. And I treated them with respect and provided them tea and water. I really thought they were an honest men. After few hours, they finally told me how much it cost and said the price is around $27500 for 14 panels. But I told them that I have a budget problem, $27500 is too much for me. One of the man who is a manager said he will reduce to 12 panels for the price of $20854 and wanted me to sign the contract today or the discount will be gone and SAID THIS CONTRACT WILL LAST FOR 6 MONTHS but DIDN’T MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT 3-DAY CANCELLATION things. He was asking me to sign on the IPAD and said only sign once and initial once on the IPAD and it will automatically memorized it. He pointed to the area where the initial or signature needed and asked me to touch it and my initial or signature will automatically display, but he didn’t explain the whole contract thoroughly. Until on Feb 18, 2017, he came to my house for the Contract Addendum signature and wanted my bank statements to make sure I have enough fund. I told him that my family will help me out and I will pay cash. I checked with him about the solar maintenance warranty but he said there isn't any maintenance warranty. Then I requested to go over the warranties and need time to go over the contract before I sign. He was unhappy and wanted me to sign the Contract Addendum and said his daughter is outside the car. I told him that I need time to go over the contract and felt like I was being forced to sign the contract. We ended up with an argument, and he said 3 days was over and it was too late to cancel. At that moment I was shocked and asked him why he has never told me anything about 3-day cancellation. He pointed to the print out contract which he just brought with him today on 2/18/17 and said right there. I was complaining about him was being dishonest for not telling about 3-days cancellation notice from the beginning.

This is a 100% scammer. From the beginning he intended not to mention about "THREE DAY RIGHT TO CANCEL NOTICE”, only mentioned about the 6 months contract will last. So this is a trap, if the consumer failed to cancel the contract within 3-days because the contractor intended not to tell "Three Day Right to Cancel Notice,” then the contractor will collect $2000 to compensate him which “Three Day Right to Cancel Notice” indicates. But what about the consumers, who will compensate them?
